DOF. What the Dof?

Some people love it.  Ansel Adams, not such a fan of it.  DOF (Depth Of Field) is one of the tools photographers have in their bag to help them tell a story.  The nemesis of Landscape photographers, ask any Lifestyle, Portraiture, Wedding or Sports shooter and they will sing it’s praises.  There is a much better explanation right HERE, if the idea of blur and focus and photography escape you.  It’s wordy, I’d go for the photos that they have as examples.

This brings me to the photo today, and is why I am posting this!  I went for a walk with my oldest gal the other day and my Nikon 50mm 1.4.  It’s my favorite “artsy” lens (although we’ll see with the new 70-200 2.8) as it is razor sharp and has wonderful “fall off” into what we photogs call boken (lens blur).  The little lady and myself have decided to get an nice big enlargement of this for the house.  Once I get caught up with my other post processing…
